About the School

Established in 1949 alongside the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the School of Finance at Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE) is one of the earliest and most prestigious institutions dedicated to financial talent development in China. It is a national key discipline, a “Double First-Class” discipline (a national initiative to build world-class universities and disciplines), a Beijing High-Level Discipline for Advanced Innovation, and the host of the Ministry of Education’s Engineering Research Center for National Financial Security. The School of Finance also serves as the Secretariat of the Ministry of Education’s Steering Committee for Finance Programs.

The School of Finance offers a National Featured Specialty in Finance, and operates National First-Class Undergraduate Programs in Finance and Financial Engineering, as well as a Beijing Municipal First-Class Undergraduate Program in FinTech. Notably, it was the first school in China to establish a dedicated Department of FinTech. The School currently comprises five teaching units—Departments of Finance, Applied Finance, Financial Engineering, International Finance, and Financial Technology—and two teaching innovation centers: the Center for Professional Master’s Teaching, Research & Case Studies and the Center for Modernized Finance Curriculum Innovation.

It also hosts ten research institutes, including: Securities & Futures Research Institute; International Finance Research Center; China Banking Research Center; China Asset Management Research Center; Silk Road Finance Research Center (AIIB Research Center)

China FinTech Research Center; China Monetary & Economic Research Center; Private Equity Investment Fund Research Center; China Inclusive Finance Research Center; Center for Financial Innovation and Sustainable Development.

Position Details

• Number of Positions: 3 Teaching and Research Track, open to overseas PhD graduates returning to China, domestic PhD graduates, and postdoctoral researchers who have completed their fellowships.

• Fields of Appointment: Finance, Applied Finance, International Finance, Financial Engineering, FinTech, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and related interdisciplinary areas.

Qualifications

• Candidates must abide by the Constitution and laws of China, uphold professional ethics and standards for university faculty, demonstrate a strong commitment to higher education, possess good moral character, meet the physical requirements of the position, and have no record of disciplinary or legal violations.

• Applicants should generally be under 35 years of age (born on or after January 1, 1991).

• A PhD degree (or equivalent doctoral qualification) is required.

• Candidates must hold sound educational values and demonstrate strong teaching competence, with the ability to deliver high-level courses in their field.

• Demonstrated research capability and potential, supported by a record of high-quality scholarly output.

• Proficiency in a foreign language (typically English) sufficient to support excellence in both teaching and research, including the ability to publish internationally and engage in academic collaboration.
