Kees Koedijk, dean of TIAS business school in Tiburg University, and Jacques D.van Vliet, director of Contact Agency of Tiburg University in China, visited our school on the morning of May 20th. Professor Li Junsheng as vice president of our school, Mrs. Zhang Xiaoyan as director of International Cooperation Department, president Zhang Liqing of our school and vice president Zhang Xueyong together gave warm welcome to the delegation. The two sides made a deep conversation into the cooperation project of PhD. of Finance between the two schools and signed the agreement.
Firstly, Professor Li Junsheng and Mrs. Zhang Xiaoyan greeted the delegation heatedly and made a deep conversation about the cooperation, hoping to have more cooperation in extensive fields to embrace better outcomes. Principal Kees Koedijk showed gratefulness and expressed that China and Holland share a lot in values with close cooperation in many fields. A good number of Dutch high education institutions have carried out programs actively with Chinese schools in recent days, as he said, Tiburg University also looked forward to deeper and wider cooperation with our school. Both wished to build broader platform to share advantages.
Secondly, President Zhang Liqing and vice president Zhang Xueyong introduced the brief background and work arrangement of the cooperation program. Zhang Liqing indicated that this program was the first Chinese-foreign cooperative PhD of Finance program approved by Ministry of Education, thus great importance was attached to it. President Kees Koedijk thanked a lot for the endeavors of our school and expressed determination to make every effort to carry out with the ongoing project. Both would contribute to the program with separate advantages in the cultivation and communication between students, exchange visits, cooperative scientific research and master cooperation programs in a pragmatic way.
Lastly, President Zhang Liqing and president of TIAS Business School signed the PhD of Finance education agreement based on the cooperation between Central University of Finance and Economics and Tiburg University.
Our school has a long history of cooperation with Tiburg University. President Zhang Liqing and Professor Han Fuling in turn had short-term academic visits to Tiburg University while many teachers from Tiburg University came to give lessons to our school’s postgraduates. The cooperation on the students level started in 2003 with consecutive students pursuing for Master degree or Doctor degree in Tiburg University. This cooperation on the doctor level marked a new era of more extensive communication and cooperation between the two schools.
