Dean Jianjun LI and his colleagues traveled to Atlanta, USA on January 3rd, 2019 to attend the annual meeting of the American Social Science Association (ASSA) and the American Economic Association (AEA) and also organized the recruitment of overseas talents for the School of Finance this year. After the recruitment, they visited the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD).
From January 4th to 6th, Dean Jianjun LI, Assistant to the Dean Rui CHEN, Associate Professor Xian GU and Assistant Professor Yifeng ZHU interviewed 30 applicants from famous universities such as University of California, San Diego, University of California, Riverside, Indiana University, University of Toronto and Imperial College London. They conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the candidates in terms of their academic achievements, professionalism, team spirit, academic development potential, teaching ability, etc. The recruitment team attended the annual meeting of AEA recruitment session held by the Personnel Department of the Central University of Finance and Economics on the evening of January 5th. At the meeting, Dean Jianjun LI introduced the disciplinary development, academic research and teaching requirements of the School of Finance, and had face-to-face communications with students and scholars.

After the recruitment, Dean Jianjun LI and Assistant to the Dean Rui CHEN flew to Dallas to visit the Naveen Jindal School of Management, University of Texas at Dallas, from January 7th to 8th. They held discussions with the Dean Professor Hasan Pirkul, Vice-dean Professor Vijay Mookerjee, Vice-dean Dr. Marilyn R. Kaplan, Vice-dean Mr. John Barden, and Professor Harold ZHANG on topics such as finance undergraduate cooperation projects, joint training of master students, doctoral student studying visits and international supervisor groups, and both sides have reached a consensus. They also conducted in-depth discussions on operational details of undergraduate cooperation projects. This visit has further promoted the international education cooperation project of the School of Finance.
