In the afternoon of the 5th march 2016, the special course with the title of 4 stages of angel investment for postgraduates in school of finance, the internet finance, was held by Luo mingxiong, expert outside the school, in the lecture hall 219.
Luo graduated from Tsinghua University and serves as the president of Jingbei investment and crowd funding corporate, the principal of research center of internet finance in Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the Secretary General of China Internet financial investment and financing Alliance. He published the first book about internet finance, and has deep insight into investment and financing in internet finance, and successfully invested more than 20 internet financial companies. He has also been named “the ten leading Chinese Internet financial figures". His teaching style is easy understanding, vivid and humorous, which is deeply loved by the students. As one of the Internet financial sector representatives, Luo has been selected to give Internet finance course as the first lecture keynote speaker for three consecutive years.
Firstly Luo introduced the terms of angel investment. He quotes Buffett as saying: "when others are crazy, I fear; when others despair I am greedy", and pointed out that during the depression a better projection shows its worthy of investment, and we should seize the investment opportunities. Then Luo introduced the four stages of angel investment by a number of cases. Stage I: “mountain is mountain, water is water", that you cannot find the real value of investment project through complex appearances; stage II: “mountain is not mountain, water is not water", that after the failure of investment you loss passion and nuts which makes you hard to make decision. Stage Ⅲ: "mountain is still mountain, water is still water", in this stage investors can effective to identify quality of investment project through accumulated experience; stage Ⅳ:"where there is a road there is a mountain", as long as you summary out unique investment method, do research, then you are able to predict and make profit in advance. Then, Luo introduced some of the principles that should be followed in angel investments when choosing investment project, including human capital, the shareholders` strength and so on. Finally, Luo encouraged everyone to be industrious, then you will get success both in terms of learning, life and career if you make plan and stick with it.
After that Luo had interaction with present students and share his experiences of personal life and career. He gave valuable advices for students about the industry development condition, landing job, career plan and social skills.
The internet finance course has been operated for three years till now, it is the first class with credit for postgraduates in china. It attracts attention from all school and performs well according to large amount of audiences. In this semester, our school will continue opening this course and welcome the participation of teachers and students.
