On the afternoon of March 12, 2016, Admissions Open Day for Part-time Development in Finance, a program hosted by School of Finance, Central University of Finance and Economics, was held successfully in Room 706, Academic Auditorium Building. Professor Zhang Xueyong, associate dean of School of Finance, Mr. Wang Shengchun, director of Finance Department in Beijing Rural Commercial Bank, who is also a tutor of the program, and Mr. Dan Yongquan, previous student of the program were invited to make speeches in the activity.
Firstly, through watching an advertising video of SF, the participants had a preliminary understanding of SF and the program, including history of SF, teaching style, science research strength, faculty and employment of the previous students.
And then, professor Zhang Xueyong, associate dean of SF responsible for the program, made a detailed introduction for Part-time Development in Finance. He indicated that the program had a history of more than 20 years and had made a great achievement. Students would benefit a lot from the program nowadays and in the future, that is, famous teachers and tutors, a huge social network in financial industry and so on. Professor Zhang highly appreciated the students’ great passion for study, and promised that SF would try its best to provide more opportunities for the program. He emphasized that compared to academic degree, knowledge was the real achievement for students, which made students have a deeply understanding of their study direction.

After that, professor Zhang Xueyong and Tutor Wang Shengchun made an interesting lesson for students, topics on “The future of China's wealth management and the allocation of quantitative assets” and “Risk control of commercial banks”.
With a large number of data and chart, professor Zhang lively explained the present situation and future perspective of China's wealth management. He indicated that China's private wealth were increasing rapidly. And because population with high net worth pursue steady growth of wealth, there is a strong demand for wealth management in China. Meanwhile, with the development of asset allocation methods and financial computing technology, the level of portfolio management had experienced a great promotion. So, to make a better performance in the industry, students must improve their knowledge to keep pace with it.

Tutor Wang Shengchun began his speech with a lot of cases familiar to the students to demonstrate the risk origins, types, control mechanism, management system and so on of commercial bank. Mr. Wang indicated that the bank was in the core position in the national economic and was easily influenced by the change of politic, policy, price fluctuation and so on. In addition, the bank's own operating characteristics, such as "high leverage rate, procyclical" may also cause great risk. Teacher Wang's lecture opened a door for students to further understand and study the risk management of bank.

Participants were all attracted by the interesting lectures and the atmosphere of the class was relaxing and pleasant. After the two lectures, students had a real experience on the high-level lectures of Part-time Development in Finance.

Finally, Dan Yongquan, student representative, shared his choice on Part-time Development in Finance and his achievement through the program. He said he was working in the financial sector, and realized the very necessary and urgent to improve the level of knowledge. Based on his experience, he indicated that Central University of Finance and Economics’ great influence on financial industry is obvious to all and alumnus were very united. Through the program, he made acquainted with a lot of people and developed his own network in financial industry. He said that SF provided a lot of chances for students to visit financial enterprises, which benefit students a lot.

The Open Day successfully closed in a heated atmosphere. Impressed by the interesting lectures of the teachers and attracted by the high-level of the program, more than 20 participants applied for the program on the spot.
