According to the Circular on Announcing the List of Dual Bachelor’s Degree Interdisciplinary Talent Training Programs and Joint Bachelor’s Degree Programs recently published by the Degree Committee of Beijing, the dual bachelor’s degree program “Statistics & Finance” for training interdisciplinary talents jointly applied by the School of Finance and the School of Statistics and Mathematics has been approved. The program is set to enroll students from September this year.

In line with national development strategies and actual needs of the society, the program is aimed at removing the barriers between the disciplines of Statistics and Finance and deeply integrating the strengths of Statistics and Finance, two national-level first-class undergraduate programs and first-class disciplines for key construction among colleges and universities in Beijing, to build a new mechanism for the training of versatile talents. With the objective of training interdisciplinary talents highly demanded by the society, the program strives to provide the country with talents specialized in both Statistics and Finance who have correct core socialist values and place equal emphasis upon theories and practices.

The successful application of this program will help our school further cement the educational base of bachelor’s degrees and improve the capabilities of training versatile undergraduate students in all respects.
