During the course, Prof. Hsu lectured on the history of China’s economic development, and generalized the development drivers and characteristics of each stage. She divided China’s economic and financial development into three historical phases: period of traditional economy (1127-1911), period of socialist planned economy (1949-1978), and period of socialist market economy (after 1978); and particularly expounded on the current situation after 2001. She talked in detail about China’s development situation in respect of urbanization, population structure, industrial structure and financial system. During the course, she also introduced the “Belt & Road” Initiative, and other knowledge about the country’s hot economic and financial issues.

Prof. Hsu expounded on China’s economic and financial development in simple language by adopting diverse teaching methods and combining economic and financial theories with practical problems. During her lectures, she made a point of guiding students’ interest, and had harmonious exchanges and interactions with students in a lively class atmosphere.

Prof. Hsu’s short-term lecture course was supported by the talent introduction programs of CUFE’s International Cooperation Division and our school.
